Tree Species Common in Croydon
Every Croydon property has its own tree mix. Here are the species we work on most across the suburb — knowing the species matters because pruning technique, permit thresholds, and risk profiles all differ by tree.
Manna Gum (Eucalyptus viminalis)
Signature Croydon canopy tree. Mature specimens frequently SLO-protected.
Yellow Stringybark (Eucalyptus muelleriana)
Indigenous to the Croydon foothills. Fibrous bark, tall, requires elevated work platform.
Peppermint Gum (Eucalyptus radiata)
Common eastern-suburbs eucalypt. Aromatic foliage, generally lower-risk than Manna Gum.
Silver Wattle (Acacia dealbata)
Indigenous, fast-growing, ~30-year lifespan. Staged replacement typical.
Liquidambar (Liquidambar styraciflua)
Widely planted mid-century Croydon garden tree for autumn colour. Vigorous roots; watch for paving lift.
