Tree Species Common in Bayswater
Every Bayswater property has its own tree mix. Here are the species we work on most across the suburb — knowing the species matters because pruning technique, permit thresholds, and risk profiles all differ by tree.
Manna Gum (Eucalyptus viminalis)
Indigenous canopy tree, dominant across older Bayswater residential blocks. Frequently VPO-protected.
Messmate Stringybark (Eucalyptus obliqua)
Foothills indigenous species. Recognisable fibrous bark. Tall, requires elevated work platform for canopy work.
Silver Wattle (Acacia dealbata)
Fast-growing indigenous species. Short-lived (~30 years); staged replacement typical.
Blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon)
Indigenous canopy tree on remnant blocks. VPO1-protected on many Bayswater properties.
Cherry Ballart (Exocarpos cupressiformis)
Smaller indigenous understorey tree, often protected under VPO1.
